SEPTEMBER PRAYERS

Prayer of Mother Teresa

This is a novena that Mother Teresa started in 1952 and has remained unbroken to this day. Think of at least one person you know of who is in need of prayer and healing, and then offer one "Hail Mary" and one "Our Father” for that person. Pray the following short prayer for their intentions as well:

"Father, in the Holy Name of Jesus, bless everyone who takes part in this novena prayer in a special way. Open heavenly doors in their life today by giving them a double portion of your Holy Spirit as we take back everything that the devil has taken from us: health, finance, children, jobs, homes, marriages. Amen.

Let's take time to pray for each other! Then send this novena on to others to inspire them to pray to God for others! Finally, watch the power of prayer and God’s endless mercy work in your life and that of others.

"Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”

DEVOTION IN HONOUR OF THE SEVEN DOLOURS, OR SORROWS, OF THE MOTHER OF GOD

THE APOSTLES CREED

I believe in God, the Father Almighty. Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried.  He descended among the dead; the third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, where He is seated at the right hand of the Father; from thence He shall come again to judge the living and the dead.  I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy, Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen.

PRAYER TO THE HOLY SPIRIT

Holy Spirit, come like a mighty rushing wind and awaken us out of our complacency, our apathy, our indifference,  Disturb us, for we are too content to let things go on as they are, and to let people go on not knowing you.  Penetrate the closed gates of our hearts and make us live again.  O Holy Spirit, create among us a mighty Christian Revolution and cast the fear of the unknown out of our lives.  Amen

To begin the little beads, Our Lady asks us to recite the following prayer:

“My God I offer to you these little beads of sorrows for your greater glory, in honour of your Holy Mother, I will meditate and share your suffering.  I beg for the tears You shed in those moments and that you grant me and all sinners repentance of our sins”.

The following prayer is to be repeated three times followed by and Act of Contrition.

“To me a sinner and to all sinners, grant us perfect contrition for our sins”.

St. Michael the Archangel

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into Hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
