PRAYER TO THE HEART OF JESUS

O Jesus, we know you are gentle and that you gave your Heart for us. It was crowned with thorns through our sins. We know that even today you are praying for us to that we will not be lost. Jesus, remember us when we fall into sin.

Through your most Sacred Heart, make us all love one another. Cause hatred to disappear among men. Show us you love. We all love you and we want you to protect us with your Heart of the Good Shepherd. Come into each heart, Jesus! Knock at the door of our hearts. Be patient and persistent with us. We are still closed up in ourselves because we have not understood your will. Knock continuously, O Jesus, make our hearts open to you, at least in remembering the Passion you have suffered for us.

Amen.

PRAYER TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY

O Immaculate Heart of Mary, overflowing with goodness, shows us your love for us. Let the flame of your Heart, O Mary, descend on all mankind.  We love you immensely.  Impress true love in our hearts. Make our hearts long for you. O Mary, meek and humble of heart, remember us when we sin. You know that all men sin. By your most holy and maternal heart, heal us for all spiritual sickness, make us able to see the goodness of your motherly heart, so that we may be converted by the flame of your Heart.” Amen.

  - Our Mother Queen of Peace (Vol. 10, Issue 135, Feb. 2001)

OUR LADY OF SORROWS PRAYER

Mary, Mother of God, your sorrows were ordained by God from al eternity as part of the penalty to be paid for sin and were St. Michael Center For The Blessed Virgin Mary TO MINGLE WITH THE SUFFERINGS OF YOUR Son in that great sacrifice which was to redeem the world.

The Gospel speaks of you as standing beneath the cross. Though your soul was filled with grief, you bravely stood beneath the cross. You did not abandon Jesus as the apostles did; you remained with Him until He expired. You drew near to the cross. You beheld Him suspended by iron nails. You stood there silently fulfilling a part assigned to you by Providence.

You were to complete the offering of your Son, which you had begun on the day of His presentation in the Temple. You presented Him in sacrifice to the Father as your God and the Son of Man, as your offering and the offering of humanity for the Redemption of the world. You so loved the world as to give your only Son for our Redemption.

You had to offer the most intense human suffering, in union with the Passion of your Son. You saw in the cross an altar, in your Son a priest, and in His blood the price of our Redemption. You suffered in your soul what Jesus suffered in His body, and in union with Him you offered yourself as a victim for our sins. You sanctified all our afflictions and united them with those of Jesus. I can never fully understand the depth of those sorrows that filled your heart as you begot us to the spiritual life, while standing by the cross on Calvary. The words of the prophet are applied to you: “O, all you that pass by the way, attend, and see if there be sorrow like unto my sorrow.”

Mary, your life, like that of your Divine Son, was a daily crucifixion and martyrdom.  You found the cross very heavy during the three years of his public life. Though deprived of the joy of the presence of Jesus, you were more intimately united with him than ever through your sacrificial love, since your will was one with His.

Because you freely consented to become the Mother of God, you experienced mentally all the bitterness of your Son’s Passion and death. Though worn with sorrow, you took your place at the foot of the cross. You generously offered Jesus as a sacrifice to the justice of His offended Father. You united the oblation of your own suffering and grief with the offering of Jesus, thus proving yourself worthy not only to share but also to be one with Him in the redemption of souls.

Mary, you are our spiritual Mother. The crucifixion was not only the sacrifice for sin; it was also the new birth of mankind to the spiritual life, lost by the sin of Adam. It was the great vital act that completed the work of God in the world. You had a share in that work; it was of your life work. The new birth of mankind was completed on Calvary. You were present as Mother of the human race, the New Eve.

Your dying Son declared this in His words to you from the cross, “Woman there is your son.” Those words include us all. You were declared to be spiritual “Mother of all the living.” And when Jesus said to John, “There is your Mother,” He wanted John to respect and to love you as His Mother. John took my place on Calvary and you became in his person, my Mother. Jesus could give me—after the gift of Himself—nothing more precious than you. With your heart breaking with sorrow, you had to die a spiritual death in order to become my spiritual Mother.

Since you are my Mother, I share in the love you have for your Divine Son. I can best thank Jesus for His dying bequest by striving daily to become like John in his love and imitation of you. It means imitating your humility, your purity, your detachment from the world, an your unselfish resignation to the will of God in every event of life. It also means unlimited confidence in your motherly intercession. I give you my love by consecrating myself entirely to you, in joy and in sorrow, by complete abandonment to the will of God.  I confide my salvation to your loving care. Keep me close to you now and at the hour of my death.

Prayer of Pope John Paul II, September 11, 2001

Almighty Father, we commend the victims of this shocking tragedy to Your eternal love. We implore Your comfort upon the injured, the families and friends involved, and all who are doing their utmost to rescue survivors and help those affected. We ask You, Father, to grant the American people the strength and courage they need at this time of sorrow and trial.

We beg you, Jesus, to send Your legions of heavenly Angels, led by Saint Michael the Archangel, to protect the United States from additional attempts of destruction. If supernatural means are required to foil these plots, we humbly implore you to suspend natural laws to save innocent lives and souls.

Holy Spirit, we are a sinful nation, and we beg you to send us Your authentic spirit of repentance. We are also a nation capable of great charity and justice, so look not on our sins, Heavenly Spirit of Mercy, but upon our sorrow and resolve to turn from evil, to fight evil, and procure victory over evil. Illuminate the minds and souls of our citizens and especially our leaders so we can see the error of our ways, and give us the sweet grace required to turn to God with pure hearts.

Immaculate Mary, Humble Virgin, Mother of our Church, and protectress of our nation, we ask you to go before the Throne of the Holy Trinity and intercede for the United States at this critical juncture in our history. Gently place your mantle upon our land, upon our people, upon our allies, upon our fighting men and women, as you once wrapped our Savior in swaddling clothes in a manger.

We have no words that rightly express what we on earth cannot understand or ever truly fathom--the Love of God--so we turn with childlike faith to the words that Jesus Himself taught us to pray:

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed by Thy Name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen!

Saint Michael the Archangel, protect us! Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas, pray for us. Saint Katharine Drexel and Saint Elizabeth Anne Seton, pray for us. Saint Thomas More, Patron of Politicians, pray for us. Saint Joseph, Patron Saint of Canada, pray for us. Immaculate Mary, Patroness of the United States, pray for us. Jesus Christ, King of Kings, have mercy on us!

Amen.

A Prayer for America

Father, once again we are reminded that any security we have as individuals and as a nation comes only from the abiding hope and trust we have in You.

Once again, we are cut to the heart at the loss of life and damage to peace that we have suffered as a nation.

So, Father, today we come to You and we seek Your peace for the families and victims of the horrible tragedy. For those still lost in the rubble of destruction, we ask for the safety of Your hand. For those consumed by worry and fear as they try to locate missing loved ones, we ask for the comforting presence of Your Spirit.

We seek Your peace for the emergency workers - that You would guard their lives as they seek to guard the lives of others. Give them the wisdom they need to perform their duties above and beyond the levels of their training.

And Father, we seek Your peace for our nation and our world. In the midst of our questions and uncertainty, we recognize that the unknown details of this day are already in Your grasp. We know You sent Your Son as the Prince of Peace and even this day falls under His command. Help us to find the strength and comfort we need as a nation to continue to humble ourselves, pray and seek Your face for a new day in America and a new hope for our world.

"Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you." (2 Thessalonians 3:16)

St. Michael the Archangel

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into Hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
